Dulux has released its highly awaited colours and trends forecast for 2023.
The forecast is based on local and global research and is headed by Bree Leech, Colour Forecaster/Stylist and Andrea Lucena-Orr, Colour and Communications Manager.
The Dulux colour palettes are a source of inspiration and guidance for interior designers and decorators as well as other design creatives.
This year’s themes are driven by our need for authenticity, connection with nature and the outdoors as well as renewal of spirit and joyfulness.
“The palettes we can expect to see in our homes in 2023 are predominantly warm and nurturing, with nature continuing to be a key driver of trends. Brighter hues continue, however, they are deeper than last year.” - Andrea Lucena-Orr
Balance
There is no denying Aussies’ love of water, be it lake, river or ocean and the Balance palette perfectly complements this love affair! The palette includes light delicate pastels in green, blue and pink as well as the deeper hues of turquoise, steel blue, green, red through to a dark charcoal.
The calming nature of water is the perfect antidote to the unsettling last couple years the world has experienced. We are all yearning for a return to harmony and the colours in this palette are designed to calm and nurture.
Revive
This palette is all about joy and fun. The colours are uplifting and inspire happiness, they’re a reminder of happy times. The cheerful colours are light and bright and can be used en masse or as pops of colour in a neutral background.
It’s a palette designed to unleash the creativity in all of us, a chance to use colour in a fearless and fun way.
Connect
This palette is all about soft calming earthy neutrals . Think muted greens, pale yellow, warm deep browns, charcoals, greys. There is a connection to the outdoors, a cocooning effect. The decor is raw with an abundance of natural materials, timbers, cotton, linen, paper, wool.
Priority is given to sustainability to reveal a deference for our earth.
Happy decorating,
Grace
