Dulux has just released its much anticipated Colour Forecast for 2025 and I am excited to share and review the striking colours presented within each palette, Still, Emerge and Recollect.
Each year, Dulux takes a reflective and future-thinking approach to create palettes that respond to current societal sentiments and general collective mood. The last few years have been one of upheaval and change and we are increasingly seeking joy and comfort from our environment and spaces at home. These factors have played a determining role in shaping the colours that were selected for the three palettes.
STILL
The Still palette is a gentle reminder to take a step back and slow down. This palette is all about taking the time to appreciate our surroundings in a more contemplative manner. The colours are muted and when applied to areas of our home and kitchen they provide a soft and calming feel, perfect for slowing down.
The reference to nature in the colour, Slight Mushroom, inspires eco-mindfulness. This term encompasses sustainable living practices, the application of biophilic principles, the use of eco-friendly and natural products, the recycling and reuse of materials.
EMERGE
The Emerge palette centres on optimism by introducing pared back yet uplifting pastels. The colours are muted and calming and allow the opportunity to create captivating and delightful combinations.
The mid tones work beautifully together to create spaces that are joyful and welcoming.
RECOLLECT
Featuring a range of bolder, deeper hues, the Recollect palette is sophisticated and striking with green based colours in combination with a rich red, brown and plums. This bold combination of colours work to create a sense of nostalgia inviting reflection and a slow down in pace.
Recollect is a palette that works perfectly as a backdrop for vintage elements and modern pieces to bring intrigue and energy in a space as seen in the lounge room below.
